User Profile Failed to Load - Error ----------------------------------- 1. Safe Mode with Networking 2. Run regedit as an administrator (Windows key + R to run it also) 3. HKLM\Sofware\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList 4. Look for two profiles that almost the same. One has .bak Right-click the .bak version and rename the extension .ba 5. Right-click the other profile (w/o the .ba) and rename .bak 6. Go back to the .ba file and rename to remove the .ba 7. In the same profile on the right panel the following should be with 0 REF_DWORD values: state and refcount 8. Exit regedit and restart in normal Windows mode. Then... 9. My suggestion: type line by line the good version of the profile into the broken backup copy, since it can't be of any use. (There is no reliable copy/paste -- sorry!)
